Feature documentary, The King of North Sudan follows Jeremiah Heaton, a Virginian inventor, congressional candidate, hemp farmer and now king, on his quixotic quest to establish a new country in Africa. Yup. Really. Currently in Post-Production...

Ben McIntire and long-time partner, director Danny Abel teamed up once again to explore this wild story.  Filmed primarily in Virginia, China and Thailand, as well as several cities within the US, over the course of two years. The production was a tricky one from a camera perspective, often requiring camera setups with smaller footprints.  Filmed on Red Gemini, Sony F5, C300mkii, Sony FS7, Sony A7s, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k, Sony A6300 and Canon xc-15.
